Our Mission

At Bee Brothers, we are passionate about bees and the important role they play in our environment. It all started when our founder, Kim, became interested in beekeeping as a hobby. He quickly realized the incredible impact that bees have on our ecosystem and knew he wanted to share that with others.

Questions You Might Have

At Bee Brothers, we provide comprehensive beekeeping services throughout the Central Coast of New South Wales, including bee nucs, hive installations, and ongoing support for both novice and experienced beekeepers.

Yes, in NSW, beekeepers must register with the Department of Primary Industries (DPI). This registration helps in monitoring hive locations and preventing the spread of pests and diseases. You can apply for beekeeper registration through the Service NSW portal. dpi.nsw.gov.au+1 service.nsw.gov.au

Essential beekeeping equipment includes a beehive, protective clothing (such as a veil, gloves, and suit), a smoker to calm the bees, a hive tool for inspections, and frames with foundation for the bees to build their comb.

Maintaining a healthy bee colony involves regular inspections to monitor for diseases and pests, providing adequate nutrition, ensuring the queen's productivity, and managing hive space to prevent swarming. For comprehensive guidelines, refer to the DPI's beekeeping resources.

Yes, beekeeping is possible in urban areas, provided you comply with local council regulations and ensure that the bees do not pose a nuisance to neighbors. It's advisable to check with your local council for specific guidelines.
